GP3R: FOUR FORMER CHAMPIONS FILE ENTRY FOR CSCC RACE JEAN-FRANÇOIS DÉRY ENTERS TO DEFEND THE WIN

LAVAL – Four former Champions will go for the win in the Canadian Stock Car Championship (CSCC) event, which is part of the 49th Grand Prix of Trois-Rivières (GP3R). The race will be held on the NASCAR weekend on August 11 and 12 in Trois-Rivières.



The race winner of the last three events and the 2013 Champion, Jean-François Déry of Quebec City, won the only Late Model (LMS) race held on the streets of Trois-Rivières in 2004, under FASCAR sanction. In, fact, the only LMS event ever raced on a road course in history of the class. Dery who road raced prior to turning to stock cars is certainly a favorite to win the race.



Defending Champion, Jonathan Bouvrette of Blainville, will be racing for the first time on the road course will measure his abilities against those who have raced in karting or road race.



Actual point leader and 2005 Champion, Dany Trépanier of St-Édouard de Lotbinière, will try to benefit from his previous road racing experience to claim the win and consolidate his point lead. Trépanier a Quebec Champion in the 125cc Shifter Kart category also won the prestigious Little Monaco of Trois-Rivières.



Boischatel’s Donald Theetge, a two-time LMS Champion in 2006 and 2009, is second on the all-time event winner with 23 wins. His impressive racing resume includes a 3rd place finish in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Challenge at the Daytona International Speedway. Donald, a part time driver with CSCC in 2018, just won his first NASCAR Pinty’ s race and made his career debut in the NASCAR Xfinity ranks. He certainly hopes to put down his name next to his brother Benoît’s, a five time winner in the streets of Trois-Rivières, was just inducted in the GP3R Hall of Fame.

The CSCC race is part of the NASCAR weekend portion of the 49th Edition of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières which will take place on August 11 and 12. Two practice sessions will take place on Saturday, August 11, while Qualifying and the race will be held on Sunday, August 12.
